Michelle Stevens, NEOS’ Executive Administrator, Shares a Little Bit About Who Inspires Her, How She Helps Our Clients, and #LifeatNEOS

Tell me a little bit about what you do for NEOS and our clients.

I’m the Executive Administrator for NEOS and handle many of the day-to-day activities to assist managing the office and internal operations. I wear several hats for our team; everything from processing payroll and new hires to maintaining vendor relationships and employee benefits. I enjoy working with our clients to ensure projects run smoothly in terms of account maintenance, invoicing, and travel.

What is something that not many people know about you?

I’ve always been curious about my ancestry, especially beyond what’s known within my family. For the past 5 years, I’ve been extensively researching my lineage through genealogical and historical databases. I enjoy putting the puzzle pieces together to catalog family trees and discover life events that tell a story. The most rewarding experience has been finding two adopted family members by taking a DNA test. We’re looking forward to meeting this summer!

Who inspires you and why?

Our Armed Forces and first responders. I’m inspired by their self-sacrifice, dedication, and an uncanny ability to help people and handle any crisis under pressure. Brave men and women including my husband, John, make me feel strong and proud during these times of need.

What are you currently reading?

“A Whole New Mind” by Daniel H. Pink. It explores the natural abilities and insights of right-brain thinkers and their impact on transforming the new “Conceptual Age.” For fun, I’m reading an antique book written in 1908, “Household Discoveries: An Encyclopedia of Practical Recipes and Processes.” It’s a neat experience to step into the world as it used to be; taking care of the home and each other without today’s automation or conveniences. There are directions for everything from “making preparations for wash day” and “what the home nurse ought to know” to every recipe imaginable with less than 10 ingredients!

If you could choose one word to describe the culture at NEOS, what would it be and why?

The first word that comes to mind is Authentic. I’ve never worked for a company that consistently prioritizes open and honest communication from the top down. NEOS prides itself on fostering a family-based culture through dedication, team collaboration, and giving the best experience for our clients.
