As a Senior Director at NEOS, tell us a little bit about what you do for NEOS and our clients.
I help our clients execute on their strategy, leading delivery with strong program and relationship management. I offer insights and help avoid and/or manage through pitfalls leveraging over 27 years of finacial services industry experience.
What could you give a 40-minute presentation on with absolutely no preparation?
Scaled Agile Framework for Enterprise, or Initial Scene Size up and Fire Attack…depending on your taste.
If you could choose one word to describe the NEOS culture, what would it be, and why?
Collaborative is the first word that comes to mind. Everyone at NEOS very willing helps others, and we all have a good sense for accomplishing our goals as a team. Our whole is greater than the sum of the parts.
What are you most excited for regarding the future of the insurance/financial services industries?
I think the burgeoning practice of using wearables, social media, and big data as sources of data to replace typical para-med / APS for life insurance applications is really very interesting. If it works, it will make the life insurance purchase akin to an annuity purchase (“drop a ticket”), which may expand the number of those selling and purchasing life products. It will take years to see how effective carriers can be in underwriting risk. The proof is in the mortality pudding – 50 or 60 years from now when death claims start coming in on these policies, will the carriers see abnormally high claim rates? Only time will tell.
Who inspires you and why?
Winston Churchill and Ulysses S. Grant because they both faced enormous challenges that impacted millions of people and tackled those challenges with unabashed leadership, character, and an unwillingness to give in or give up.
