Eric Fairchild shares something not many people know about him and his one word to describe #LifeatNEOS

Tell me a little bit about what you do for NEOS and our clients

As a Senior Principal, I am a member of NEOS’ leadership team helping to set and execute the strategy for our company. I run our Project and Program Management practice, ensuring phenomenal delivery for our clients while growing the careers of our project managers and business analysts. And I run client-facing engagements and manage those relationships to ensure we do the right work for the right clients at the right time.

What is the one thing you couldn’t live without?

My family. With children in high school and college, we communicate by Snapchat far more than face-to-face; the times I most look forward to are when we are together in part or in whole – I’m counting the days until Christmas when we’ll all be together for some family vacation time. And my favorite things to do are only my favorite when I can do them with Amy, my beloved wife of 25 years.

What is one thing that many people don’t know about you?

When I want to kill some time at home, and the Yankees, Bruins, Patriots, or a Formula 1 race aren’t on TV, I play a game on the laptop that I first started playing… in college…

What are you most passionate about at NEOS?

Delivering as a team. I’m very “E” on the Meyers Briggs scale, so I love collaborating with my team members on whatever challenge we have in front of us. I basically dominate the conference room here at NEOS because I am perpetually pulling folks together to create and deliver.

What is something you think everyone should do at least once in their lives and why?

Do something you’re not good at, and keep doing it (as long as you enjoy it). We often do the things we’re good at over and over, but we may be missing opportunities to learn and grow that way. When I took up hockey at the age of 40 I was absolutely positively not good at it – but I enjoyed it and learned about a different kind of teamwork and camaraderie than I’d experienced in the past. Ten years later I’m still not very good at it, but I still enjoy playing, the teamwork, the friends.

If you could choose one word to describe the NEOS culture, what would it be, and why?

Energetic. Every day we interact with individuals and teams to solve challenges and deliver for our clients – the energy and positive attitude is always palpable.
